Two weeks ago I went on a short 5-day trip to New York City with a couple of friends for my Reading Week. I was actually so lucky with the timing of this trip, because that week happened to be abnormally warm...which is a dream come true for us bloggers! I didn't even have to pack my winter jacket and I was able to bring out my skirts! I was so excited to be finally dressing up for spring weather.
Here's a compilation of my outfits on this trip!

Here I am on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge! I'm a fan of the "shirt-under-dress" look, and so I decided to go for that combo with a black denim button-up dress and a thin grey turtleneck. Match it with knee high socks and black booties, and you've got yourself a super cute look! It was a little windy that day so thank goodness for the longsleeved turtleneck LOL

Ah, SoHo. How can one not love the streets of SoHo. From the cobblestone roads to the minimalist yet beautifully coloured buildings lined with ladders that serve almost as decoration...walking around SoHo is one thing I don't get tired of. It is honestly a blogger's heaven for taking outfit photos! Here I'm wearing a white collared shirt with a high side slit, paired with a black cropped tank on top. I've been seeing this style of layering recently and I'm loving it! Pair it with (very) distressed denim jeans for a chic look with a touch of grunge.

Bringing in a touch of masculinity into this outfit! Here I am in front of the Flatiron Building, another iconic photo spot in NYC. I'm glad I packed a scarf with me because it was pretty chilly that day. I'm wearing a simple black coat with my current favourite straight leg jeans, along with a pair of chunky black boots.

Would you believe me if I said I took this at a library?! Because yup, this marble heaven is the entrance of the New York Public Library. I just wish our libraries looked this nice on campus LOL!
To go with the elegant background, I decided to wear a shimmery black maxi skirt, a pretty ribbon bow shirt and a classic leather jacket and black heels. Such a sweet, feminine look with a touch of edginess from the leather!

Let's play spot the similarities. If you guessed either "same location" or "same shirt" you are most definitely correct! ;) There was no way I was leaving this beautiful library with only one outfit shot. So, of course, I had some back up clothes on me. I absolutely love this shirt, not only because it is way too cute with the ribbon detail, but also because it's so versatile! I switched up the skirt for these stylish straight leg jeans and red strappy heels for a totally different look.

Another popular spot is DUMBO. Standing on this street gives you a great view of Williamsburg Bridge in the background - your typical NYC photo! But be sure to get there early, or else you're going to be spending more time dodging cars and waiting for people to cross the street, than actually taking photos hahaha.
Here I went for a bit more of a dressy look. I'm wearing a delicate lace top with a leather skirt, fishnet tights, OTK boots, and a fur coat. This outfit has got me ready for a fancy dinner date!

Final one! For this outfit, I'm going for a casual "lazy-chic" look. I'm wearing a loose collared shirt, half tucked in to my current favourite pair of ripped boyfriend jeans. And, of course, fishnets. Honestly, when am I not wearing fishnets these days?!
