Nothing, and I mean nothing, feels better than coming home from a long day out and wiping off that full face of make up. Okay, that and taking off your jeans. That might be on par. But unlike jumping out of jeans and into sweats, removing your make up takes a bit more effort. I have really sensitive skin so I prefer products with minimal chemicals. So, when I heard about this new company NIU BODY's natural (and vegan!) makeup remover wipes, I just had to give it a try.
NIU BODY makeup wipes contain only 3 ingredients: Coconut oil and 2 essential oils. These two essential oils differ based on your skin type. They have 4 kinds of wipes for normal, dry, combination, and oily skin. Here's what each one contains:
Normal: Coconut, geranium, and lavender essential oils
Dry: Coconut, lavender, and ylang ylang essential oils
Combination: Coconut, ylang ylang, and rose geranium essential oils
Oily: Coconut, tea tree, and cedarwood essential oils
First, how cool is it that they have wipes catered to different skin types? I think that's amazing because, just like how make up isn't one shade fits all, make up removers shouldn't be either. Our skin deserves the best fit! I got the combination skin make up remover wipes and my first impression was, wow this smells good. But more importantly, how well did it work? I used these wipes on a day I had pretty heavy (and waterproof) make up on to test its full strength, and I'm happy to say that it wiped my face clean and bare! The individual wipes are quite big so one was enough to take off everything. As with all oil-based removers, I did use a cleanser after to wash off the oils and leave my face feeling fresh.
Another neat thing with these make up remover wipes is that they don't only serve as removers. The coconut oils contained in these wipes help with moisturizing and anti-aging, and the other essential oils also play a role in promoting healthy skin (head over to NIU BODY's page for more info on the essential oils!).
So, what's the verdict? I love it and I totally recommend it! For those of you who use pump-style liquid removers, these wipes are great for travel. Grab however many you need and put them into a Ziploc bag. This will save you SO much space and avoid the hassle of travelling with liquids!
